Here you can
find a lot of information to help you become an awesome skier.
Mental
Training.-
This type of training helps you focus during your snow training
and avoid distrations. If you really want to do a 360 for the first
time or you are about to do a competition run, it helps to see it
in your head and go through the motions in your head to get extra
practice and be more comfortable.
Nutrition.-
If you want to ski your best, it's important to eat properly so
that you can rest better between ski days and have more energy.
The links below can help you make good decisions about what you
eat.
Selection
Criteria .-
This document will show you how we select skiers to different competitions.
Competitions
.- Competitions bring out the best in people and are a lot of fun.
As you get more involved, you will want to learn hte progressions
of competitions and what the next step is. The list below is the
typical progression of competitions:
- Club Competitions
- Provincial
Competitions
- Junior Nationals
- Canadian
Series Competitions
- Nor-Am Competitions
- Senior Nationals
Judging.-
Our sport is a judged sport. Eventually you will want to find out
more about how you can improve your scores. Your coach is able to
answer a lot of questions about what you need to improve and sometimes
it is also helpful to ask a judge to review your performance so
that you can get their perspective on things.
The
Alberta Athlete Development Committe
is made up of two Athlete Representatives from the Alberta Team,
all Club Head Coaches, Provincial Coaches and the Provincial Director
of Training. There are two meetings held throughout the year; Fall
and Spring. In addition, the ADC is actively involved throughout
the season in guiding our sport and presenting recomendations as
needed.
