Here is a brief overview of the current CFSA coaching courses available this spring.

  • The TSM 1 & 2 course is completely new to the coaching stream detailing the current World Cup technical content that is being taught at the highest level of mogul skiing.  Upon completion of both technical modules, it is the equivalent of the “old level 2 moguls”.  These on snow courses cover core mechanics and base technical key elements to develop skier and freestyle coach.   We have entered into a completely new era of coaching material from across the spectrum in 2010, in all disciplines.  TSM 1 & 2 will deepen your knowledge and broaden your ability to develop your athlete’s.
  • The A1 & A2 courses are very new and current for acrobatics.  These courses cover a range from entry level trampoline through off axis rotations and flipping off axis, as well as base level traditional aerials.  With the completion and certification of the A1 & A2courses, the CFSA license coach is permitted to teach entry level tramp (A1 certified). With completion and certification of the A2 course, the coach is permitted to teach inverts covered in the A2 material(A2 certified).  Both of these certifications cover coaching instruction on trampoline.

These new courses are a must for any coach new to the CFSA system as well as furthering education of established coaches from previous years in the system.  I highly recommend all coaches from all levels to attend as we help to improve an already solid Alberta Freestyle.

See you on the slopes!
